在砂巖浮雕養護時需要避免的五個方面：

    （1）不可直接用水沖洗,天然石材和天然木材一樣，為一種會呼吸的多孔材料，因此很容易吸收水分或經由水溶解而侵入污染。石材若吸收過多的水分及污染，不可避免的會造成各種石材病變，如：崩裂、風化、脫落、浮起、吐黃、水斑、銹斑、白華、霧面等惱人問題。因此石材應避免用水沖洗或以過濕拖把洗石材表面。
